News and Events

I have always enjoyed listening to music that express how I feel. It always seems easier to play a song to show what I am thinking or feeling than to tell someone. I have gathered the following songs, quotes, and quotes of songs that inspire me or motivate me in some way. Many of these songs are survival stories about sexual crimes, family life, growing up, domestic violence, or about motivating you to stand up for yourself.

  • April

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect and encourage individuals and communities to support children and families. Too often, kids are abused--either by parents, relatives, acquaintances, neighbors, and even child caregivers.

  • From my friend Melissa:

I am currently a Master's student at Purdue University Calumet in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program. I am conducting my thesis on sexual behaviors and experiences and I need help getting participants to contribute to my research.

The survey is available on-line and is completely ANONYMOUS, and no personally identifying information will be connected to your responses. Your contributions and involvement would be very beneficial to my research interests and hopes to contribute to the field of marriage and family therapy.

To participate in this research, you can click on the link below to go directly to the survey. The survey should take between 30-45 minutes to complete.

I would very much appreciate any assistance you can provide in getting the survey available to other members or contacts in your organization and related organizations. If you could please pass this to other friends, or post on your page or bulletin.

If there are any questions, concerns, or suggestions for related organizations, please feel free to contact me.

I sincerely thank you for your time and assistance.
